I use this to my cats in grooming everyday. It is gentle and my cats seems to love this compared to my older de-shedding brush. It actually leaves the top coat neat because of the tiny tips.

This would be great for short hair cats. My cats are medium-long hair and it really doesn't work well when I use it to get rid of the matted hair. I would say this is good for daily grooming for medium- long haired pets but not on getting rid of the matted hair.
