If your phone is connected by Bluetooth to this device, you can hear the phone's ring and audio on this speaker. The sound quality is great. I would say this is great to use in kitchen counter areas when your doing something. I am using this with my Digital photo frame where I usually play music while playing the slideshows of my pictures but I am connecting it with the audio cable thru AUX mode.
